VINEYARD NEWS
Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, CT recently picked up a win in the Boston Magazine New England Travel Awards. Their Friday acoustic music series keeps rolling through August 28, 5 to 7pm, so it’s a nice excuse to visit while the vines are still green and the awards buzz is fresh.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Wallingford, CT: Paradise Hills Vineyard, a family owned, Tuscan style tasting room, hosts live music most weekends all summer, plus their well known wine slushies. Check their events page for the current lineup.
Little Compton, RI: Sakonnet Vineyard packs its August calendar with live music and UnWINEd yoga classes almost every weekend, including Live Music with Stefan Couture on August 8 and UnWINEd Yoga with Danielle on August 22.
West Greenwich, RI: Leyden Farm Vineyard and Winery throws a Seafood Night on August 29, 6 to 9pm, with traditional paella, whole lobster, and live music. Tickets are limited.
WINERY SPOTLIGHT: GLENDALE RIDGE VINEYARD
Tucked into the Pioneer Valley in Southampton, MA, this family run vineyard leans into its motto that every bottle tells a story. Expect flights, glasses, and full bottles poured with an easygoing welcome, plus a wine club for anyone who wants their favorites delivered.
Why go: a quieter, hillier slice of wine country if you’ve already covered the coast.
WEEKEND TRIP IDEA: CAPE COD
Book a spot on Truro Vineyards’ Sip, Sail and Celebrate cruise aboard the historic schooner Hindu out of Provincetown on August 6, sipping Truro wines while you cruise the harbor. Make a weekend of it with a stroll through Provincetown and a stop at the vineyard’s own tasting room in Truro before you head home. Best for couples who want a beach town backdrop with their wine.
SWEET WINE CORNER
Leyden Farm’s Seafood Night comes with a fun twist: your welcome drink can be a wine slushy instead of a glass. Frozen, fruity, and completely unfussy, it’s the easiest way to make a lobster dinner feel like a beach vacation.
